Succeeding in game development must be too easy, and they want that extra challenge of choosing an engine that might pull the rug at any moment.
@djlink unity's debacle was so bad that it did splash damage and I don't want to use unreal either.
@djlink Many companies (and I mean developers, actually) believe it is impossible to create games without a full engine like Unity, Unreal and "maybe-if-your-game-is-very-simple" Godot.
Sometimes I'm called crazy to study C++ and used a framework to create games, even though gamedevs has been doing that for decades 🤷
