A growing list of brands to avoid because they are “actively engaged in the enshittification playbook” (many post-acquisition by private equity), including Dr. Martens, Pyrex, Hoka, rag & bone, Ray-Ban, Black+Decker, Hunter Boot, Craftsmen, and more. https://ledger.worseonpurpose.com/status/avoid

SCOTUS narrowed its definition of bribery so that the judges(Thomas; Alito) could continue grifting without consequence.
Now Congress has to look at impeaching Supreme Court members.
Hey remember when Charlie Kirk got shot and all of MAGAland was like "TREMBLE IN FEAR LIBS FOR YOU HATH NO IDEA THE AWESOME MIGHT WHICH YOU HATH AWOKEN!!!' and then they immediately folded under zero pressure and wafted away like a fart in a blue wind?
Yeah, good times.
NEW: Security researchers found residential proxies running on the White House network, exposing other devices in the president's inner circle to cyberattacks.
The security company that detected the activity said "anyone buying proxy access could use it to reach internal systems."

I can't wait for the US to adopt medicare for all. It's going to change your relationship with work far more than you'd ever expect.
(And the shitty parts of it will stop bleeding over into Canadian work culture.)
Yesterday was #AskAConservator day and I didn't really get any questions on my other platforms. Let's try the Fediverse!
What would you like to ask a conservator?
(I try not to say "art conservator" because I don't usually work with art in the traditional sense. I'm an objects conservator so it's easier to think of it as "all things old and crusty" rather than fancy art.)
Zohran Mamdani understood something no one else did: most Donald #Trump voters had their reasons for going for Trump, and those reasons were economic. Mamdani saw that, and he saw a path to winning them back. He gave it a name: affordability. https://portside.org/2026-11-04/last-nights-victories-were-made-possible-zohran-mamdani #NYC #NewYork #1u
@maxleibman Good. People were moderate about letting commercial interests onto the Internet in the 1990s, and they have gradually destroyed everything they've touched.

Hear my Jeremiad. I have extensive experience, including multiple pilgrimages to this reputed holy land, wherein I have found precisely zero inhabitants willing to engage me on the subject of whether Ahab’s peg leg was his left or his right. I shall not be enticed afresh.
I just spent ten minutes or so (including time for research) contacting my senators (Durbin and Duckworth) and representative (Sorensen), telling them that investigations into criminal activities by the Trump administration need to begin NOW, not in January.
I'll be doing this on a regular basis. Whether I hear back or not has no bearing on my actions.
In case you're wondering how MAGA is handling this stunning rejection of MAGA, Ron DeSantis just delivered a speech blaming trans people for the fact that MAGA ran billions of dollars in anti-trans ads, which he says are the cause of this sweeping defeat of MAGA.
We did it, girls. We defeated MAGA. It's all our fault.
🏳️⚧️💪
You know what, MAGA? I take it back. You were totally right all along. Turns out I'm NOT tired of winning.
I love how a lot of digital security these days is like, "Ah, I see you are trying to make something available on the Internet. Hear me out, what if you simply did not do that?"
I actually don't disagree with this position, although it kind of makes it difficult to make stuff that needs to live anywhere other than my computer.
Schrödinger’s Cat has both been fed and not been fed at the same time when observed.
The end times have been rescheduled. Please return to your homes and worry about something else.
Does anyone currently work in the tech industry (for a company, with other people, not your own independent thing) and is not thinking about getting out to do something else?
If so and you'd like to share, I'd love to hear what you love about this work today.
this could be us.
