Imagine there are children who are starving. You are from a wealthy country and you decide to exploit those conditions to conduct a study of what happens when you withhold food from kids.
You divide them into two groups.
One group gets fed immediately. The other has to wait 3 weeks for food.
Some of the kids will become severely ill and some will die while waiting for food, but since none of them have food now and you will feed some of them, you say it’s ethical.
That’s an analogy of what RFK Jr. is funding in Guinea-Bissau.
Of course, we already know what will happen to the kids who don’t get food, so the entire experiment is completely unnecessary.
But some disgusting, predatory asshole was confirmed as HHS Secretary in the United States, and wants to test out his conspiracy theories on a vulnerable nation.

This entire vile episode will be a case study in ethics for all eternity, and every Republican who confirmed RFK Jr. should be drummed out of office while Kennedy himself gets impeached and convicted.
