    If I work for Amazon and I donate to Bernie Sanders, is that a corporate donation?
    I don't work for Amazon but if corporate is the source of my income and I donate that income to Bernie, where is the line?

    With respect, Warren and the others you listed are part of the problem. While they appear to be on the progressive end of the Dem party spectrum, in reality they are openly hostile to socialism and devoutly loyal to neoliberal capitalism and the corporate donors.

    Therein lies the difference between a social democrat and a democratic socialist. Even Bernie is subservient to the system, though today’s socialist movement in the US would’ve been impossible without him.

    @funnymonkey It doesn't matter if Schumer is or isn't leader as long as the bourgeoisie has such close links with the entire Democratic Party. Whoever the leader is, they'll just find another friend or family member to bribe them with.

    It would be great if the Party declined, and even punished, bribes like this. And the only way to force it to do that would be with a huge working class movement credibly threatening an economic shutdown, like a general strike, if any bribes were accepted. And if the movement is strong enough to do that, it would be better off making its own party, or strengthening an existing working class party.

    Even if you took away the most egregious examples of corruption like this, that wouldn't change the fact that the vast majority of Democratic politicians don't want the working class to seize power. They actively discourage that and work to prevent it. If we can force a change so radical as the abolition of bribes, we can and should also put leaders in front of us who actually have our best interests in mind, and are willing to fight for us.

    The solution isn't reforming the Democratic Party, it's building an independent working class party. This is what I, and many others, are doing with the Revolutionary Communists of America. (Well, I'm building the Canadian section, but the point still stands.)

    He thinks that there's a possibility for a Trump nominee to be anything other than terrible. Any Trump nominee to SCOTUS will be a rightwing terror, even if they try to dress up as a moderate.
