Matt Wilcoxmattwilcox@mstdn.socialAug 23, 2026, 2:59 PM@chriscoyier you’re missing the latest thought technology:
⁃ “Label says light but is actually system”
⁃ “Label says dark but is actually system”
Christopher Kirk-NielsenchriskirknielsenAug 23, 2026, 3:09 PM@chriscoyier Unironically love the idea of naming themes after a feeling rather than just an aesthetic.

It’s a nice approach, even if it reminds me a little those emotional ice-cream names
“What is this?”
“Oh it’s Summer morning in Capri”
“And what is in it?”
“Lemon and cream”

@fdrc @chriscoyier Hahaha, okay yeah that's fair: when we (try to) give money to a business, it's way better to be clear about what we're paying for. A personal web site has a way larger whimsy budget (it is, in fact, unlimited) so I would likely be happy to see this in the wild.
Aug 23, 2026, 3:14 PM@chriscoyier "black until we find something darker"?

@chriscoyier Feature Requests for the next release:
– Light on even days, dark on odd ones
– Matching DST (it's always fun when you travel from, let's say, Germany to Alaska where DST starts/ends a couple of days apart)
–Chance in an instant or get lighter/darker gradually
– Use color temperature according to f.lux instead of light/dark themes
– Invert color theme on April 1st
– Choose based on my horoscope
– Dark but revert to light every hour until coin is inserted
