@aral 😂
@aral If only someone warned people that ignoring climate change would cost us more money than fixing it...
Also, this is the sad version of "hurting the economy", where it's actually hurting real people. You know, these days, when things are "good for the economy", the rich will pocket the profits, when things are "bad for the economy", it's the normal people who will foot the bill, while the bottom feeders will cry about how migrants are somehow to blame of course.

TFW when your only hope of survival is the internal conflict of your enemies 💀
Fossil fuel industry disinformation campaigns were very successful in obstructing climate action.
As usual, social media platforms like Facebook were complicit in actively inciting the far right & riots like the Yellow Vest protests.
Of course, carbon taxes to punish working class consumers for using fossil fuels without a concomitant investment in alternative energy was a flawed strategy.

The oil industry is willing to do anything to keep its captive markets.
@aral let's ask AI to save the economy... and solve climate change 🤡
@aral yeah, but they can only plan 1 or maybe 5 years in advance. So all this was totally unforeseeable. 🤷
