Last year, there were stories of people who travelled to the US and were turned back at their arrival. To me, they were the lucky ones. There were people who went through customs and were stopped, and subsequently held, before they left the airport.

The number of campaigns in the initiative has grown over time, and donors have in some cases been stretched thin across multiple campaigns.

This means that, unfortunately, there are many campaigns that are currently receiving $0/week.

The situation has prompted me to add a last_donation_time field both to the API and to the UI in order to better prioritize aid.

What changes:

• The campaigns page now sorts by <amount:asc, last_donation_time:asc> by default (previously, it was only by amount:asc). So, if many campaigns have failed to collect anything in the past week, they’ll be sorted by when they received the latest donation. A campaign that received the last donation 2 months ago should probably be prioritized more than one that received it 8 days ago.
• The campaign page now also reports a Last Donation field for each campaign (on top of the existing Last Activity), so anyone who scrolls the list can immediately spot accounts that haven’t received any help in a long time.

Absolutely. Being Jewish does not mean being Zionist, and criticizing the actions of the Israeli government is not the same as attacking Jewish people. Jewish voices opposing genocide and Zionism deserve to be heard, just as people of any background can support or oppose these ideologies. Conflating Judaism with Zionism only fuels antisemitism and makes Jewish people less safe.

A tenant moved out a few months ago and left behind a massive bunch of books. They are all beautiful, color, coffee table picture books bound in hard covers. There's more than 60 of them and I want to get rid of the whole lot.

He was a retired industrial designer so the books cover art, architecture, applied design, and commercial graphics. They are all about 20-30 years old. Many of them are full of post-its but are otherwise unmarked.

The local public library won't take them, and nobody I've asked wants them. I simply don't have the heart to toss them in the dumpster. I don't care if they get cut up by school kids for goofy art-class collages, as long as they get used for something other than land fill.

They weigh a couple hundred pounds so you need to come pick them up in West Petaluma. Maybe a maker-space could put them in their library? Anybody? Bueller?
