anyway, whatever the cause we do not think we will be capable of anything that requires working memory for the rest of the evening. alas.

(because of our lifetime of experience dealing with dissociative phenomena, we're pretty good at functioning in conditions where it nominally doesn't make sense that we should, but it's not fun)

@ireneista i have a hard time believing half the continent is on fire and i can't breath and i can't think clearly and the air quality is somehow fine
