    The timing of the MacBook Neo price increase is unfortunate, but I don't think it's a death knell for the device as some are suggesting. After all, iPad and MacBook Air received even worse price increases, so MacBook Neo is still a good deal relatively speaking, and surely Apple's device vendor competitors are suffering from the same component shortages.

    I would assume that Apple decided to produce MacBook Neo long before it decided on these price increases.

    @lapcatsoftware what I’m trying to figure out re: the neo (and reactionary wintel versions) is the crazy price inflation already existed when the product launched. You could make a case that the locked in component prices dried up shortly after launch of the neo, but the reactionary wintel stuff probably didn’t have the same pricing deals. I don’t expect that side to up their price too much — unless they do it in reaction to Apple’s new prices (ie, increase margin).
