Jun 13, 2026, 11:00 PM@noodlemaz I believe it’s because, as I wrote elsewhere, his “wealth” is all stock market mysticism, not real wealth. If he starts selling stock in his own companies, investors will see it, start panic-selling, rapidly drive the share price down, and his “fortune” evaporates overnight.
He didn’t put up that money because he doesn’t really have it.
@OGJester @noodlemaz he doesn’t need to. Lets say his net worth is 1 trillion. Assume a very poor 5% return (im sure Elon woukd be embarrassed if he was inly getting 5%). That means an income of 50 billion per year (also an inconceivable amount!) so roughly a billion dollars a week.
