A lot of people chimed in with insights about seat back entertainment in the industry. There is a shift away from seat back entertainment as in-flight WiFi becomes more common and people bring their own devices, so these units are basically only being fitted to long haul.
Less demand = lower $ spent. Lower $ = less dev time. Less dev time = shittier experience.
