Then they came for art, and everyone went "This art is shit!”.

Now they're "creating" software, and somehow I'm the crazy one for saying that maybe we shouldn’t.

Context:

A thought triggered by a comment on a video of a truck crashing under a bridge that was too low to cross in the USA.

Someone asked why this keeps happening and suggested better signage.

But this type of accident happens all over the world, even with better signage, and even under YouTube-famous bridges.

Sometimes people just fuck around and find out. 🤷🏻‍♀️

The more I think about problems in the world, and how folks shout that “common sense isn’t common anymore,” the more I realize that we live in a society where we don’t accept that humans are—and probably in higher numbers than you’d like—really fucking stupid sometimes.

And ironically, I think we would make better decisions and solutions if we collectively realized that.

That is to say:

If I can't use a paid service when my network and devices block your tracking bullshit… then fuck you.

Wanted to quickly check something on a streaming service on my laptop (I normally use the iPad app for this).

And the website refuses because "something went wrong."

One trip to the inspector panel reveals that, just like months ago when I last tried, it's some analytics app crashing and refusing the entire service.

We’re being bombarded with photos and videos of burning landscapes from many countries.

And I can’t stop thinking about that moment a few weeks ago.

A festival preceded by a heatwave, outdoors in the dry grass.

And the stranger who tossed his cigarette stub on the ground without looking, close to our feet, the remains still smoldering.

I didn’t know the guy, but I instantly knew that I didn’t like him.

At work, we are tossing around the idea of moving away from Gitlab, because it's a resource hog. One option is Forgejo (@forgejo). Do any fellow screen reader users have any experience with this service? I noticed an unfortunate lack of headings for easy navigation, but a quick browse shows no other major problems.
