    okay, netbsd's out of the box experience for desktop is... not great.

    there are many things that could be done to improve this, but sadly that doesn't include me porting drivers for graphics cards i don't own.

    so with that massive caveat, who would be interested in a netbsd-based desktop distribution?

    like hypothetically, i could fix most of this, it's really just drivers (which i can't because i don't have tons of hardware to test on) which are enormously problematic.

    @mansalia no, because the purpose is to avoid slop and all the freebsd developers i know are not optimistic about them making the right call.

    @dysfun
    It's currently the best non-linux desktop AND there's no slop in it, just a POSSIBILITY of slop somewhere in the future? Am i getting it right?

    I mean sure, do what you think is right. It's just that when your ideological fog stops blinding you you have a chance to be left with a good desktop experience, not a rage-inducing pile of crap.

    @mansalia no, there is slop in it already.

    i have been a desktop freebsd user before, maybe don't tell me what to think?
