Steam overlays, Nvidia overlays, XBox/Windows overlay... I'm showing my old age here, but why is this shit opt-out instead of opt-in?

And why does it keep turning itself on again (hey, Nvidia?!)

Really, why is shutting my PC and its notifications and overlays and crap up so much work? :/
