Option 1($$$$): I can get one of these suites for $150/night (reduced rate, owner is a friend of the instructor): https://www.mtnfunbasecamp.com/lodge-suites-cabins . But $150/night for two weeks adds up! And no pets allowed so I gotta pay for a dogsitter for 2 weeks at $100/night
Option 2($): I can drive up in my truck (vs. train/bike) and camp at that campground for $25/night. Dogs can camp with me and stay in truck during class time.
Option 3 ($$): Still camp, but train/bike up and pay for dog sitter.

I think I'm leaning towards option 3. But oooboy I'm not loving the travel logistics. Amtrak will get me to Vancouver at (hypothetically) 5pm or 10pm. Which means I'll likely have to get a hotel room in Vancouver before moving on to Squamish. Which mean $$ for the hotel and another day on the trip (and more money for the dog sitter). I thought there might be a ferry but I'm not finding one.

@Karstan 2 or 3, but rent a room every third night so you can shower and sleep in a comfy bed, because the kind of work you'll be doing will take a toll on your body.

@msbellows campsite has shower access! That's not a bad idea to take a break from the tent at some point though 🤔

@Karstan *bookmarks mtn fun basecamp link* also, option 3 sounds like more of a hassle. why not 2 and be with your pups?? 👀 though i am biased because if i could take my dog with me everywhere, i would lol

@programmablecat I'm worried my dogs might be a bit of a hassle too. I'll definitely be limited in what activities I can do in Squamish if I take them.

@programmablecat Still working on it. I've got some time before I have to make that particular decision, but I think I've settled on camping. I just can't financially justify anything more expensive.
