I’ve been on fedi for 3 years, so I’m taking the opportunity of #PortfolioDay to make a proper #introduction !

My name is Nighten and I love to draw very detailed illustration about city and nature. Most of my artworks are set in the same continuity and universe, see if you can spot the link between them!

Most importantly, I publish a weekly art newsletter where I dive deep into my art, project and inspiration. I think it’s very good so feel free to join and read the archive! :)

(You even get free coloring pages by subscribing!)

And thank you if you decide to follow me! I hope my art will bring you joy 🌸

Amsterdam police seized a server belonging to Autistici/Inventati (A/I) from a data center at Amsterdam Science Park, acting on a US legal assistance request. Police digital experts are making an image of the drive, which goes straight to the US.

A/I spent 25 years providing free web hosting and email to about 20,000 left-wing and anti-capitalist groups. In August the US branded it a terrorist organization.

@Karlitschek @nextcloud @zendis and of course, our very own @RosannaSibora also got to present @openproject updates on the Zendis main stage 🔥

Day 2 of #SCCON has been a lot of fun. Currently listening to @Karlitschek talking about @nextcloud updates at our @zendis booth.

Don't mind me, just fangirling over talking open source with @landesregierung 's Minister for Digitalization and Media Policy @dirkschroedter, and @AlexRosenthal , leader of @digitalhubsh :ablobcathappypaws:

Lol talk about sovereignty washing. "The sovereign workspace" based on... Google.

If you haven't been paying attention to this story, it's truly wild - a supposed European alternative to big tech social media that lured in politicians and made waves but is incredibly poorly thought-out and is effectively doxxing its users. @_elena has been on it from the beginning. https://blog.elenarossini.com/public-by-design-how-w-social-makes-their-verified-users-personal-details-visible-on-the-open-web/

Btw I'm allowed to generalize about Germans because they're my fav people to work with and also my grandma's bicycle got stolen during the war.

Speaking of the Berlin metro, can we talk about the German stare? What is up with German people casually staring into your soul?

[Pic TW: intense eye contact aka a mild case of the German stare]

Just showing my coffee all of #Berlin this morning 😊 (got on the wrong metro).

My first official conference on behalf of @openproject . Come say hi if you're at the Smart Country Conference in Berlin 👋🥳

Did you know the ancient Chinese used flooding as a weapon of war, or that the Dutch adopted this strategy to defend Holland in the 1500s, or that Machiavelli and Leonardo conspired to steal a river?
Read these stories in my new book about #water, #war, and #peace.

And yes I know it's vibecoded, but I hate Adobe even more than I hate AI.

Oh nooo... someone recreated Adobe's entire suite.. and it's all free and open source. So sad, won't someone think of the shareholders... 🥲

The US is going to impose new sanctions on the International Criminal Court (ICC). These sanctions would prevent companies from providing services to the ICC.

https://www.reuters.com/world/us-imposes-sanctions-international-criminal-court-hours-after-former-judge-wins-2026-10-09/

Dutch newspaper @NRC wrote an article a month ago about IT suppliers of the ICC, such as @ProcoliX , who worry about getting hit by US sanctions as well.
