Because eMudhra is in the news, I am sharing a screenshot of a footer of an email I once received from them in reply to my query about my PAN card (a government-issued tax identity and card). #eMudhra

An image of text on a white background. The text reads, "Regards, eMudhra PAN Card Support Team". A horizontal line separates this from the final sentence, which says, "We hope this response has sufficiently answered your questions. If not, please do not send another email."

@samebchase there is more of it in their latest press release. They're doubling down and saying that them being caught and publicly criticised is the actual problem. They haven't apologised for anything.

@rohini @samebchase So basically, they’re taking their ball and going home.

Which makes some sense from the corporate POV, but gives the strong sense that they have no *clue* how badly this has damaged their reputation among the tech community…

@jducoeur @samebchase I'm guessing they have a sense of impunity. eMudhra is one of three authorized government franchises for PAN processing in India. They must have made a fortune from the government contract. There have been no legal consequences to eMudhra. No punitive action against them.
