Because eMudhra is in the news, I am sharing a screenshot of a footer of an email I once received from them in reply to my query about my PAN card (a government-issued tax identity and card). #eMudhra

I like the name of this new global democracy index https://tyrannytracker.org/

It is a pain to move about such an old blog out of a platform. Which is why I had been putting it off. I'll switch platforms now. I am not deleting my Medium account because doing so will take down an article that was a part of an award-winning series.

I appealed. Medium restored my account while stating that it was 'mistakenly caught in a spam filter'. I guess the 'spam' was my placing some 'claps' on approx 2 dozen posts+comments within an hour. Medium's automated filters interpret that as bait for attracting traffic to one's own blog. I am not a member of Medium's paid partner program. I don't get paid for pageviews. I was already done with Medium's shady practices & lack of transparency. This was the last straw. Not posting there anymore.

Medium suspended my 11-year old account this month for violation of rules. No warning, no email from them notifying me of the suspension. No mention of the rule that was violated. I never had an issue in these 11 years. The last thing I did on Medium was 'clap' for some posts. Looks like an AI dragnet automatically flagging activity.

Wild ginger and bitter ginger.

These vines are from somewhere in southeast Asia.

Venus fly traps.

Does this remind anyone else of the Hastar figurine in the movie Tumbbad?

Sunsets in the hills.

Arabica coffee pods.

Paddy fields, lotus ponds, and coffee plantations.

Forest trail. The red earth of the Western ghats and the sound of cicadas, crickets, frogs, and a little stream.

Not a good photo but it's a whole jar of vanilla pods grown in Coorg. It smells divine. The host's cooks made vanilla shrikhand from it.

Thread: The motorcycle isn't mine. The suitcase is.

Unionised bank employees striking for receiving incentives promised to them 2 years ago, and a five-day work week instead of working 2-3 Saturdays every month. Good to see this. These are government employees. We need more of this in every sector.

I haven't tried the app yet. Full marks for its name.
