Either make everything work, or stop trying to pretend this cable isn't a computer in a trench coat and let me talk to it.

@astraluma @rjbs I'm pretty sure my phone and laptop are already figuring out what is ok for each cable I plug in. Just need some way to get that out of the usb chip and up to the user.

@astraluma @emily_s In “System Information” you can see the speed limit on cabled devices, which is good enough, on macOS.
