I cannot wait for Trump getting some of Putin’s wonderful “Diesel Ultra” into American cars — surely that will affect his popularity in all the good ways.

@randahl Because of all required repairs to the refineries, they don’t have an opportunity to switch production to winter diesel. The diesel they are producing now will (partially) solidify in the Russian winter cold, and that will clog up fuel pumps, even more than what you see here.
@mrtnsnp @randahl I think it's more of a matter of quantity than opportunity. To produce winter spec diesel, you need to get the cloud point down. But that means you have to cut your diesel shorter, i.e. you will have less diesel yield. It's a clear quantity > quality strategy. And since they can't sell it as on spec diesel anymore, they give it stupid names like "ultra diesel".
@randahl well the good news for Trump is that almost all American cars run on 'gas', i.e. gasoline or petrol, not diesel. Volkswagen tried to get Americans to run diesels but 'dieselgate' finished that attempt.
The bad news is that trucks and other commercial vehicles, that move stuff about the USA, run on diesel. Ditto tractors and other agricultural and mining vehicles.
It’s right in line with the ground beef Trump allowed to be imported tariff free to lower the cost.
@randahl Oh dear, how sad, nevermind...😂

Water can get in through condensation, a leaking cap or vent, or contaminated fuel. It isn’t usually true algae.
