barbrabarbra@vivaldi.netSep 11, 2026, 5:03 PMCan't disagree, except to say they're the greatest threat to the world, not just US citizens.
Countries are already moving their gold reserves out of the US.
With the US deficit heading to $50 trillion by 2029, time to get out of T-Bills too. Default is inevitable.

Scotty Treesscottytrees@mastodon.socialSep 11, 2026, 5:21 PM@Strandjunker depending how these mid-terms go, we could be cooked. well, regardless of how it turns out, we're still pretty cooked. it'll take decades to undo the damage and some things that are already gone now, won't be ever coming back in our lifetime.
Sep 11, 2026, 5:47 PM@Strandjunker I was pondering this morning the loss rendered upon the US 25 years ago, but then my thoughts go to modern day Palestine which dwarfs what was done to the US and demands a greater sorrow to be carried. A slice at home, a severing abroad.

estelleestelle@mstdn.socialSep 11, 2026, 6:16 PM@Strandjunker i mean, it was basically true even at the time, and he could've gone down as the worst president in united states history
but somehow, trump got elected and was even worse
pdiff1pdiff1@mastodon.sdf.orgSep 11, 2026, 6:48 PM@Strandjunker And let’s not forget their power is now enforced by the DHS, the unwanted knee jerk child of 9/11 panic. Many of us were fearful of what it has become back then.
