After the "fun" I had in the Neovim Github tracker this week, I poured a ton of love back into my old vimrc.
I also updated my website theme to pair up with the new vim colorscheme I'm enjoying.
And lastly, I redirected my financial support for Neovim back into Vim.. I even own some of the official merch. I'll drop it off at a donation center the next time I go to the dump.
Life goes on, man.
And yes, I know: The vim project receives LLM contributions. The truth is, you don't get to know when and where these LLM contributions happen all the time.
It feels like fighting a hornet's nest with a fly swatter.
I have to navigate all the shitty around the very close AI influence and "research and AI enablement" projects I am more or less forced into at work now.
I can't even kid myself into an AI free lifestyle. My income is too important to my family, so upstream vim will have to do.
I just hope that the vim project isn't struggling on the inside with this crap the way that Neovim has been. The DHH Omarchy "fucking give 'er on the AI" circle jerk seems deep in the Neovimsphere and I'm frankly out.
