And BTW I'm using noai.duckduckgo.com and have AI images set to "Hide".

Here are some examples of what dominates the results; there are many more. Challenge: do this search and see how long it takes to find a real map among the images.

BTW I wanted to mark just the images as Hidden/Sensitve but I couldn't find a way to do it without CW-ing the entire post. Looks like that ability has been removed--If not, can anyone tell me how to do it?

Cartoonish AI generated image that claims to be a topographic map of North America showing mountain ranges where none exist and over-simplified coastlines.
Bizarre AI generated map that is captioned as a 'detailed topographic map of North America' but although it has the general shape of the continent, it shows exaggerated mountain ranges going in all directions covering almost all of the USA and Mexico.
Another supposed topographic map of North America with mountains that look covering all of Canada and the USA looking like a lumpy, burned pastry with some kind of skin disease.

Welp. Sadly, there's more news on this AI maps topic. Some US State Dept. employee used AI to make a map infographic thing for a conference about AIDS that mislabeled every country it referred to on a map of Africa. 😭 And the shapes of the country borders don't match up with real countries either.

[editorial aside: WTF are they even doing showing their faces at an AIDS conference after killing USAID and letting so many people die of it?]

article: > "A U.S. government map of Africa mislabeled every country during a State Department presentation at ‌a global conference taking place in Brazil this week, causing a stir among attendees who took screenshots and posted them online."
    ...
    > "A Reuters analysis found the image of the map included in the presentation contained an artificial intelligence watermark that signals it was made with OpenAI tools. The company said it was investigating the report." <
