My friends have a whiteboard where they keep their home improvement todo list, so every time I visit I surreptitiously add a fake item.
    - rotate furniture
    - refinish doorstops
    - ceiling fan torque dampers
    - check attic ambient load distribution
    - dishwasher vapor return manifold
    - recalibrate subfloor tension dampers
    - test GFCI harmonic inversion modes (+/- 0.5%)
    - confirm plumbing flow alignment (clockwise only!)

I’ve noticed they’ve started checking these off. I approve of this development.

@dan in high school, a friend of mine had a whiteboard for groceries.

The gag was to add the word butter every time someone came over.

We were in and out of his place so usually there was between 4-12 instances of the word butter every grocery trip lol

    - Apply LED oil to all light sources
    - Tune shower temperature PID
    - Refill router fluid
    - Carefully remove and properly dispose of all left-handed sugars
    - Change microwave filament

    @StarkRG @dan

Rotate oldest cat’s front paws (rear paws are due next month)
Replace grease trap in the email account’s spam filter
Check tire pressure on the rolling chairs in the office
Adjust sundial for daylight saving time
Top off the microwave storage tank above the microwave oven (get the good kind this time—the cheap Walmart waves rot in storage)
Check some of the more obscure fluids in the car: last week, it was low on White-Out, ketchup, and linseed oil

@dpnash @dan The blender needs yellow printer ink, no I don't know why it needs yellow, we never use it.

Huh. In my case the blender needed cyan toner, the washing machine needed magenta, and the kitchen sink needed black. It was the barbecue grill, of all things last week, that needed yellow. The actual printer refused to work until I found gold ochre, burnt sienna, *and* chartreuse (that last one had been on back order at Costco for weeks).

@dan I love their organisation of everything in their home really.
I wish also to start recording everything achieved everyday.
I am also running the organisational work where we promote food security and environmental conservation in local communities.
We train people and pupils from schools how to sustainably grow food using organic materials.
We also donate some of the grown food from a rental space we use to the most vulnerable families ,and looking forward to expand our programs to others

@dan I've had "dishwasher vapor return manifold" on my list for a while. Besides the manifold construction bugaboo, I think the fan control needs to be a humidistat, maybe in addition to some thermal thresholds.

We used to have a centrally located family blackboard nominally for such items.

Commentary would occasionally occur. "Comments" would occasionally go "viral", resulting in every square cm of space being filled. (Board was 3'x4', so this took some doing.)

Trained me well for when I later encountered USENET 😂
