I'm extremely envious of anyone with the surname "Power," there are just so many great names and nicknames available. Theodore "The" Power, Maxine "Max" Power, etc.

Ok. Let's do this one more time.

Bed: levelled.
Fillament: dried and loaded.
Printer screen: barely functional.
Web interface: operational.
Slicer: crashed.

Damnit...

"She came out of the bedroom wearing the pants I'd had on the night before."

American: That's a bit weird.
British: WHAT THE FUCK?!?

I much prefer the youtube genre "Why this thing you mildly dislike is actually awesome" over the related genre "Why this thing you sorta thought was alright is actually trying to kill all the kittens."

If anyone's in the mood for a fun mix of sci-fi and historical fiction in a book series with a female protagonist, I can strongly recommend Jodi Taylor's Chronicles of Saint Mary's starting with "Just One Damned Thing After Another". There's a semi-prequel short story, "The Very First Damned Thing," but you shouldn't read it until after book 4, "A Trail Through Time."

There's currently 14 main books in the series, a handful of shorts, and a spinoff series called The Time Police.

You'd think that using the toilet with the door open would mean I don't get the cat paws under the door since the cats can just come in. You'd be wrong.

Here's an interesting thought, some day, in the far future, the last remaining lawyer in the Universe will win their last case.

So, at what age do cats stop accidentally getting their knife fingers stuck on things? It keeps happening to my doofuses and I'm wondering if they're just too young (they're about 6 months old at this point) or if the doof runs deeper.

One of them just tried to climb onto my office chair via the armrest and slipped and fell off which is a somewhat common occurrence so it really could be either.

They call it "hyper awareness" but I just call it being passively aware of what's going on around me and I honestly can't understand how anyone can function *without* that awareness. That sounds to me more like extreme distraction and/or self-absorption. (which isn't a judgement, it's just what it looks like to me)

I wonder, if I put a picture of kibble at the bottom of the kittens' bowls, will they actually eat everything in there and not let about 10% of it go stale by saving it for later?

Hmm, I was gonna use C++, but should I code my low-power embedded project with micropython?

No. No, I should not.

Good lord, Python sucks.

"It's good for learning."

No, *BASIC* is good for learning, Python is good for... um... things that are slightly too complex for a shell script?

Math? No, use R or Octave.

Can anyone explain what Python is good for that something else isn't *significantly* better for? Maybe it could be good as a replacement for Javascript?

I really think there needs to be an IDIC emoji. While the LLAP hand sign 🖖 is more recognisable to the general public, IDIC is *far* more important. While the queer, trans, nonbinary, etc flags are good, IDIC, Infinite Diversity in Infinite Combinations, is all-encompassing. Rather than saying "I'm like these people," it's saying "we're all different, and we all belong."

YOU CAN'T END A BOOK LIKE THAT!!! 🙀

Doctors: think they know everything, including what and how bad your symptoms are, better than you do.

Also doctors: refuse to act as a knowledge base for medical information, they spent 8 years studying medicine and expect a baseline of at least 4 years.

Don't expect to be helped unless you come with a diagnosis in mind (but definitely don't *tell* them what it is, you have to lead them to it or they'll refuse to acknowledge it and you'll have to come back another time once they've forgotten)

Lina🐱 has found herself a slightly elevated sitting position from which to watch the goings on of the house. Very, very slightly elevated.

Alright, my normal search-fu has been thwarted by modern search "technology."

I've stripped the threads on one of these screws (and maybe damaged the others) that holds down the bed of my Qidi Plus 4, so I need replacements, but what even are these screws? Are they custom made or are they something I can actually get replacements for? Qidi doesn't have any for sale on their website and "oval head screw" is something else altogether.

Ivy🐱 found an empty box and filled it.

Eew, I just found an "AI" generated drama podcast. Why would anyone?

The kittens have discovered that they can reach through the gap between back of my chair and the seat and poke me in the lower back with their claws. I'm pretty sure they think it's funny.
