I give you "The Epic Gnome ❤️ KDE Handshake".
This is probably the silliest thing I ever commissioned, send some love to @trans_lykanthropie for drawing this. :neocat_heart:
This is free for any personal use and for commercial use related to both Gnome and KDE depicting neither overtly negatively as long as the artist is mentioned.
@gnome :celeste_hearts_og_pride: @kde
Edited to lower the file size of the post. If you want the full resolution glory: https://f.drakulix.de/share/gnome-kde-handshake/cursed%20painting%20commission.jpg
Jul 21, 2026, 8:39 PM@drakulix That's a big file! It's loading like it's 1999.
@faithisleaping Only the full resolution for my followers!! (This might have been a mistake, my home connections upload is entirely saturated.)
Jul 21, 2026, 8:46 PM@drakulix I honestly didn't know if Firefox still had partial image rendering. I guess I know now! 😹
Jul 21, 2026, 11:47 PM@faithisleaping@anarres.family @drakulix@social.dreampi.es Of course it does! With modern file formats, the progressive image rendering can even load low-frequency details across the whole image before it refines the higher-frequency details encoded later in the image. You can even do crimes with it. Rendering of partially-loaded resources is awesome in my opinion and i'm glad browsers still support it better than ever.
Jul 21, 2026, 8:55 PM@drakulix I can't believe I waited for almost 5 minutes for _that_ to load 💀
@drakulix captain, i'm on a phone
@drakulix i fucking love the internet
Jul 21, 2026, 10:19 PM@drakulix @trans_lykanthropie @gnome @kde I laughed so hard after it loaded - not sure what I expected 😂
Thank you for that! 😁
