Dayton-style pizza is definitely a thing, and the local joints best known for serving it when I was a kid are still at it. If you ever visit someone there they will probably take you to one of them, and then you will get to pretend that you like it
So proud of my hometown. We can make anything less fun
Feeling nostalgic for the days when our immoral, warmongering imperialists at least knew how to spell
"Navy and Marine Corps boards have voted to retain trans members in nine of 12 cases.
"The Pentagon keeps the proceedings secret. Outsiders — even spouses — are not allowed to attend. Officials won’t release numbers. Leaders won’t discuss the outcomes.
"Still, the votes are a stunning rebuke from the armed forces, where following orders is bedrock. And they suggest the military’s transgender ban is being rejected by the very troops the administration says the ban is meant to serve."

I should have checked first, this quote commonly attributed to Keynes turns out to probably not have been from him
It's like Keynes said, a terrible pundit with a Harvard degree can remain relevant longer than you can remain sane
I don't understand why anyone listens to Matt Yglesias. But then that is a thing I have not understood for 20 years
Show me a hero, and I will show you a broken system
Glad to see @ondrej getting the recognition he deserves. Now we just need to build structures so that individual heroes don't have to stand by themselves anymore

Gonna save the phrase "she is listening to rap music and killing guys with her tits while the cops do nothing" as high praise for somebody
New life goal just dropped

I have somehow managed to form bad impressions of every major iOS Mastodon client, including the official one. Why doesn't anyone write sicko software for a sicko like me
The main lesson of podcasting so far is that pudgy potato men are not equipped to handle even a tiny amount of fame
I am not going to learn about the latest cheating podcaster. I simply refuse
Who up immanentizing they eschaton
Sign of how much has changed in the last ten years
"Local Wikipedia is Wikipedia, but only for things a half hour walk from you."
This joke gives me an excuse to repost one of my favorite antipope stories, the tale of "Pope Michael I" (aka David Bawden), who was elected pope in 1990 by a conclave of himself and five other people in a thrift store in Kansas
Should have listened to my guidance counselor and become a heretical antipope
