I was in Mexico when I signed up for Uber and it's the only place I ever used it. For years they'd text me promotional offers in Spanish, then they stopped.

This morning I got a text in Spanish with a 2FA login code. So I went to head off whoever was trying to get into my account by logging in and deleting it. Except I apparently no longer had an account? So I unintentionally created a new one and then deleted that.

Makes me wonder if they've split up their systems and my phone number is still associated with a Mexican Uber service that I can't access from here.

Would have been nice if I could have just gotten an anonymous ride in a Mexican taxi instead.
