    I keep a lot of good notes as I work through things. Sometimes it would be nice to share a single note with someone online.

    Today, I built a prototype for a system that allows me to do just that.

    1. I run a custom plugin command in Obsidian.
    2. The currently open note gets rendered into a website project and deployed to a server.
    3. A URL to it is copied to my clipboard.
    4. I can share it with a friend and easily share my thoughts.

    It's rough on the edges but I already love it.

    I still need to work on better styling and removing things like Obsidian wikilinks from the output and set up a good way for copying assets but for 90% of the use cases, it's already good to go.

    So happy with that.

    And because naming is the fun part of (and a great reason to build) projects, I think I'll call my website "agora" and the plugin "Hermes".

    @pixmo It's my first time building an Obsidian plugin too! Still quite a few things I need to figure out but I'm so happy with what I managed to do in just a couple of hours from scratch.

    And with 100% of my authentic human intelligence too.

    I tried to describe benefits and it got a bit too long raving on how I like it, but specifically thank because with that you could:
    - establish a reference point for someone
    - even yourself when apart from your tools
    - while avoiding using private communications
    - and thus all their inherent flaws (lost in history, to a person or to a group, available in a specific box only)

    And of course it's a tool with a nicely limited use (but not single, I can imagine several use cases), not a password-secured, encrypted, collaborative, bell-n-whistles swiss army knife. :)

    No idea if something permanent comes out of that, but I'm just glad that someone is tinkering around sth like that. Thanks again.
