update!: I'm told this is likely a temporary thing 🪩
wait I'm pissed off, IASA took their technical publications (TC-04, TC-05) offline. I was building an *open* syllabus around these!!! Does anyone know what's up with that?

a bot attack thing? this is the worst fucking part, the open web is disappearing and I'm watching it happen
optimistically it could be they're getting updates like a Disney World refurbishment kind of thing but optimism feels foolish in the face of current conditions
Four people have offered me copies. I don't need them! I need web urls to stay valid for just long enough for me to capture them or also just *because* I want the web to be not made up of five walled gardens
But! glad to know the bootleggers market is alive and well amongst my peers 🐢
@ashley With all kinds of stuff marked explicitly "CURRENTLY UNAVAILABLE" on https://www.iasa-web.org/technical-publications, probably some legal or contract issue? Luckily archive.org has a copy at https://web.archive.org/web/*/https://iasa-web.org/sites/default/files/downloads/publications/* but I'm not sure if you can reliably build coursework around that…
@patrick I will but I won't be happy about it. I could also provide the PDFs, but ugh, openness is the point. It's happening so fast that I can't finish building a course and archive it all at the end!
@ashley A more positive reading: Maybe they're just preparing the next edition to be released at https://www.iasa-web.org/event-6863117 or so and don't want to deal with the "I bought the old version, can you change the order?" support burden.
Might be easiest to ask them what's up.
@patrick I'm building up to asking someone involved directly but that takes so much more psychic energy
@ashley Does archive.org have copies?
@landley yes. And I have copies. I'm grieving the discovery aspect
