    never noticed the tiny lil depiction of the ‘blown away’ man on these maxell microcassettes before

    straight-on photo of a maxell mc-60 microcassette, made in mexico which may help date it. the upper half of the label is white and contains the maxell branding, the microcassette branding, the indicator showing where the write protect tab is, and the tape progress indicator. the lower half is teal and contains the country of origin, the a-side indication, the mc-60 branding, and the play direction indicator. in the upper half, below the maxell logotype is a tiny illustration of a man sitting in a chair, being blown away; a callback to a highly successful ad campaign (well, successful except that everyone seems to confuse it with the memorex ‘is it live?’ campaign…)
