@cwsound @verge I don't think truthsocial has livestreaming capability? Rumble does though. If they want to be branded the platform of death they're welcome to it I guess.

@jonathankoren @cwsound @verge I mean I don't think that public executions are (quite) popular enough that any major media org will want to risk what it would take to really go after that demographic. It will be more about not wanting to say no to the Trump administration for any reason. Which is bad enough. Talk about perverse insentives.

@jonathankoren @cwsound @verge Despite all the adds, premium subs and name recognition, Neither twitch nor youtube make money, as far as I know. The costs associated with all that data storage are just too high. The main reason to buy youtube is to own the largest piece of self-produced content on the internet. Amazon keeps twitch around to test their CDN for Amazon video, which they care about far more. In either case, the bias is toward whatever is considered less contravercial. Which makes this an interesting test for them.

@prism @cwsound @verge And Amazon Video is kept around as a CDN test for Netflix. ;)

I have a friend that works at Amazon, and he says there are exactly two stress clients for AWS. Amazon.com and Netflix, which is by far the largest AWS customer.

At the time he told me this, Amazon.com didn't actually run on AWS, but rather it's old datacenter system. They just stress test with the shopping site's load.
