Time to try out the apps on my new #JollaPhone… I wanted to browse the official #SailfishOS “App Store” from my computer (like you can with Apple in any browser). So, where is it? No links from here:

Surely the “Jolla Store”isn’t on device only?! #JollaStore @jolla
@imikotoba @jolla Yep, device only. Jolla don't keep admin control over your device like Apple and Google do because it's your device and that's creepy. So you wouldn't be able to install anything from a web site, so it's always been low priority to make one. Maybe one day if there's a strong case for it.
@abranson good point, still, I cannot read users' reviews on *my own* apps without my phone 😕
@imikotoba @jolla
@ilpianista Yeah that should really be in the harbour page.
@ilpianista Sorry, I meant to say "what? users leave reviews on our apps?" :D
@abranson
Quite a few, actually!
@imikotoba @jolla The majority of interesting apps isn't in the official Jolla store anyway. You can browse https://openrepos.net/ and https://sailfishos-chum.github.io/apps/index.html from anywhere. I think these are the two commonly used stores, though I've only used openrepos myself so far.
@caoimhin
Nobody did ask for it, but my personal advise is to stop using OpenRepos! It's damn easy to publish malware via it and the developer (which I admire and thank for all these years of *free work*!) doesn't even have time to patch it for latest php vulnerabilities. We can't rely on OpenRepos anymore.
@imikotoba @jolla
@ilpianista @caoimhin @jolla They do have a heads up message an https://openrepos.net/ which is better than nothing - but still concerning!:
Hi, as you might have heard, CVE-2026-109618 and CVE-2026-109619 has been identified in PHP.
While impact is being assessed, openrepos is in read-only mode.
