Apps in full screen *only* used that area. Side by side today, it seems the new corners purely eat into the old max-rectangle area. When viewing media of the right ratio, it ducks below the island (lower from the top than the notch) but can no longer be rectangular at the bottom. Full screen apps have controls truncated. Utterly baffling. I’d been looking forward to OLED MacBooks so long!

I use Claude for most AI stuff, except that I use the Gemini app as a pseudo-search function for questions that a Google search would be useful for. I use Kagi for my general searches.

Weird. I have the opposite experience. To me, software is more poorly designed, slower and buggier than ever. That was already ongoing before AI.
