I had a really weird experience today. I was at this fast food place, enjoying my vegan burger, when a familiar tune started nagging at me. Something really recent, really listened to a lot, really my thing. It must be some kind of #Kpop song they turned up on the speakers. But no, the voice was unrecognizable (y’know, Kpop fans recognizing their biases by voice timbre and all,) and overall vibe was too chill for the style the original song must’ve been in.
Turns out, it was a whitewashed re-sung remix of LE SSERAFIM’s Impurities <https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ccz123Jlflc>, with all the Korean mumbled out. But, like, why? The original song is already quite fast-food-y, so why even pick a remix? And why make a(n even more) mediocre remix in the first place?
I don’t get this world at times.
