I love how this 1919 #shorthand #stenography textbook <https://aartaka.me/gess.html> is radically self-contained. It explains basically everything, the justification for every choice, the nuance of all uses, the optimizations and shortcuts one can take. And it has lots of exercises! On my first read-through, I ignored most of the exercises, but now that I have to painstakingly complete every one of them several times, I start really valuing the work that’s gone into them. Currently at 55/74, will get to the end by New Year for sure, even with all the stuff I’ll have to do soon.
