I've been using the MPC Live III a lot for awhile, and I just switched over to the Isla Instruments S2400 for a different project I'm working on. DAMN, the sonic difference is not subtle.

The MPC sounds like a computer: clean, exactly like the source material, generally fine. You can make great-sounding things on it.

The S2400 sounds like a thump-god in a box. Even if you're not making any thumping noises, thump-god still thumps.
