@HOzosch @amir I'm listening to this thing and torn. I have one person tell me that my implementation of the 22 KHZ Equalization allows one of his students who is hard of hearing to use Eloquence again. On the other hand, @HOzosch did this, which might be the right way to do it technically. Is there demand for this in Eloquence64RS, which is still more performant, and @HOzosch get upset if I just ripped it?

@nick @HOzosch Sure thing! Your 22 kHZ mode is much much better, offers base, and doesn't sound muffled. These are real issues with this newly implemented 16 kHZ mode. So please don't touch yours!

@kaveinthran @amir @nick The thing is that I want to abandon the external upsampling altogether to reduce komplexity. I will se though what I can do about the mids. I have heard from various people on Elten and in person that they rather dislike the 22 kHZ as it sounds very metallic to them, like it's obvious that eloquence never really supported 22 kHz.

@nick @kaveinthran @amir well Nick, you can work on this approach yourself if you wish. At the same time, I'm trying something different as well now. There is a formant cascade which doesn't get enough emphasis, and I think this will be adding hte energy folks are missing. I'll put a test version on dropbox to try when I feel like I'm fully there.

@HOzosch @kaveinthran @amir I'm going to keep my implementation of the 22 KHZ mode regardless, someone can get that sound if they want it. I have a friend who tells me taht he has a student for which this version helps him listen to Eloquence while losing hearing, so I want to preserve this identical curve for him.

@amir @HOzosch @kaveinthran Let me clarify. There are possibilities for improving that sound, I'm in the process of banging out one that I might throw at you very soon. But what I don't want to do is to take away this exact curve in the name of some improvement, while giving others who might want it something better. Stay with me, you should have something within the day.

@amir @HOzosch I had to go back down to the 19.1 as the 16KHZ doesn't sound as crisp, and as wide in freequencey as the 19.1 that has the 22KHZ in it. the 20.0 that only has the 16KHZ to me sounds rather muffled, and the highs on things like the letter s, or c, just aren't there anymore. This of course is just my personal opinion, and what works for me, but thought I would offer my input here.

@JamminJerry @HOzosch @nick Oh what! I think his 19.1.3 sounds the best with base and clarity. His first 22 kHZ implementations lacked a bit base but he took care of that after receiving feedback.

@amir @HOzosch @nick it isn't just the bass for me. it is also the highs that either make it, or break it for me. smile. I guess I am going to have to try to find that one, and install it to see what I think of it now. smile.

@amir @HOzosch @nick t hat it very well might have. I don't honestly remember, but when highs are practically missing, or are muffled, I just keep coming back to my trusty 19.1 that sounds good at least my ears. if you have a link to this updated one you think is pretty good, I am willing to try it. I have the 19.1 I like if anything sounds off to me. smile.

@JamminJerry @amir @HOzosch Look, none of these are actually great audio science, they just have effects people find pleasant. 22 KHZ mode is genuinely a lie and I only named it that way because the community expected it to be called that, but that is *not* what we're actually doing here. The new HOzosch model is scientificly correct, even if less pleasing to some people's ears. I'm now thinking about hybrids.

@nick @amir @HOzosch well I am glad you clairified it, but I still think yours is good. I have heard ones that are just down right offle. I think for me, part of hi hearing might be going, so that is why a certain one works good for me, or I should say sounds better to me not because I think it is hi fadelity, or anything like that, but it maybe compinsates for what little loss of hearing my ears are doing. I just love the fact we have choices, as I believe choice is a very good thing. what works for one person might not be the best for someone else, and just because something is newer, and is an update, might not be the best for someone.

@JamminJerry @amir @HOzosch In future, the 22 KHZ mode quality is going to be renamed 'Presence contour', regardless of my future plans for it. I genuinely don't like lying, and calling it 22 KHZ mode really is a fib.

@nick @amir @HOzosch I just wish yours had some way of bringing up the highs a bit more. if I could do that, I would probibly change to yours as my default. like I said, yours does sound good. don't get me wrong, just the 19.1 has what my ears need. his 20.0 it went away, so my ears are unhappy, and that is why I kept the 19.1. that my ears really like. I know, I know. I sound like some picky audio snob, but trust me, I am not. far from it actually.

@nick @amir @HOzosch well just find a way to make sure that if you do do what you are thinking about, and you put it in your eloquence, you find a way to let me know so I can go get it, and try it out. smile.

@JamminJerry yup, I upgraded to v20 and holy balls, absolutely not. I cringed, hard. I just switched to this eloquence 64 RS thing and ok, sure it's missing some of the highs in 22KHZ mode, (yeah it lies about what it is, lol, so should be renamed), but it doesn't make me cringe and wonder what alternate universe I switched to, lol. oh, and note that v20's 11KHZ and 8KHZ modes also sound like garbage. Whatever was done to that release, I noped all the way out. lol. @nick @amir @HOzosch

@HOzosch hi, thakns for this, when I try to change the sampling, there's some lag, and I only can see 16 khz as the highest, does it means that 22khz is no longer there?
