version 2.0 beta 12 of Accessible Diabetes tracker is out with some improvements, and a bug fix. all is listed in the change log.

don't you just love when a company doesn't give you the information that they should? especially when it is reguarding health information? so the information I have been trying to find about Libre sensors reguarding when your sensorss 15 days start is not clear at all! in fact, it is as useful as tits on a bull! well, between me, and claude running very spasific tests, we have confermed when the sensors timer starts for the 15 days. it doesn't start after the warm up period. it starts the second you scan the sensor. now we are trying to find out when or how often the libre app uploads the data to the libre view site, so when you get the .csv file, you know that current readings are there. again, libre's documentation is about as useful as tits on a bull! it just says it requires an internet connection. well no shit sherlock! thank you captain obvious! so right now I am trying to see if there is a way to figure this information out.

lets show you guys one more video. yes, we are stuck in the 80's again on this one to.

I am from the 80's, so I remember all these songs, and yes, even as a kid, I questioned some of the. I must say though that number two on this list I never would have thought was bad. here you go. lets see what you guys thought if you were a kid from the 80's.

My nurse came today to change the dressing on my foot, and I showed her the program I have been working on. she was like, you could make millions on this! I bet a company would pay you for this. I told her even if someone would, I wouldn't sell it, as then they would own it, and all of a sudden it wouldn't be accessible anymore.

damn! I already hit my five hour limit and right in the middle of claude working on someting. I have to wait until 8:10 for it to reset. I hate when you are on a roll working on something, and you have to stop like that. lol.

ROFL! I don't think my computer likes the current weather, and what time I genorated this #SnarkyWeather report, but it is funny as hell, so here you go! my computer with an aditude!

Oh, look at the fucking time. It’s 2 AM in Holt, Michigan, and you’re actually sitting there waiting for a weather report? Don’t you people have lives? Or at least a pillow to cry into?

I’ve been standing in front of these green screens since before your parents were dry-humping in the back of a Chevy Nova, and I am so completely out of fucks to give. My give-a-damn flew out the damn window hours ago.

So here’s your pathetic excuse for a forecast. Right now, it’s a riveting 56.8 degrees and cloudy. It's darker than my ex-wife’s heart out there. Humidity is sitting at 68%, which honestly feels about as humid and swampy as the air trapped right under my beltline after three burritos from Taco Bell. Speaking of which—BRRRRRRRRT—yep, right on cue. My lower intestine just issued a stronger front than anything moving across the Midwest right now. It smells like a dying animal, but hey, at least it's more interesting than the sky.

Overnight, temperatures are gonna drop to 47 degrees. Big fucking surprise, it's November in Michigan, what did you expect? A tropical breeze and naked volleyball? Pull up your damn blankets.

Thursday rolls around, we hit 55, and we got a nice little chance of rain showers. Perfect. Just enough moisture to ruin your hair and make you question every miserable life choice that led to you living in this shithole town. By Thursday night, it plummets to 38. Cold enough to freeze your balls off, if you've still got 'em.

Friday? More rain. High of 47, tumbling down to a brisk 34 by Friday night. It's gonna be colder than a witch's tit in a brass bra.

And then Saturday comes dragging its ass in with 51 degrees and "partly sunny" skies. Oh, boy, partly sunny! Cue the goddamn marching band. A whole 51 degrees of pure, unadulterated mediocrity.

I’m done. I’m going back to my lukewarm coffee and the fifth of whiskey I keep behind the radar console. Turn off your TVs, go back to sleep, and leave me the fuck alone.

if anyone is curious as to what I have planned for the next version of Accessible Diabetes Tracker, here is a list for you.

1. Lab A1C results.
Type in the real A1C from the doctor's office and its date. The
program shows it next to the Estimated A1C for the same time, and
lists past results so people can see whether it is going down.

2. Weight and blood pressure.
Doctors often ask about these along with diabetes. A small window to
add them, and a choice to put them in the doctor report.

3. Exercise.
Like Meals and responses, but for walks and other activity: "What
did my sugar do after I walked for 30 minutes?"

4. Questions for my next appointment.
A short list people add to over time, printed at the end of the
doctor report so nothing gets forgotten at the visit.

5. From Food lookup straight into the food log.
After looking up a food, one button adds it to the food log with its
carbs, so nobody has to type it again.

6. Favorite meals.
Save meals someone eats often ("my usual breakfast") and add them
with one choice instead of typing them every time.

7. Carbs for the day.
If entries have carbs in them, show a total for today and for each
day of the week.

8. Supplies left.
How many sensors or test strips are left, counted down when a new
sensor is put on (Sensor days left already knows), with a reminder
to reorder when only a few are left.

9. Reminders.
For example "check your sugar" or "take your medicine" at a set
time, shown as a Windows notification (the program can already do
those from the system tray). The program would only remind; it
would never tell anyone how much medicine to take.

10. A weekly summary.
Once a week, the program offers a short summary of the last 7 days:
average, time in range, lows, and how it compares to the week
before (Compare already does the math).

11. A summary to share with family.
A short, plain summary saved as a file that someone can email to a
family member or caregiver, with only the parts they choose.

12. Backups to a cloud folder.
A choice to keep a copy of the backups in a Dropbox or OneDrive
folder, in case the computer breaks.

I have several things planned for my Accessible Diabetes Tracker. I believe there are 12 things planned in the road map for it right now for the next version.

I don't think these things are real. Are they? The only place I've ever heard of one is in the back to the Future movie part 2.

Ring, Person at driveway, A person is riding a hoverboard on the street.

I am very proud of myself! I know I know a 14 day A1C isn't accurate, and what not. I get this, but I have only had my sensor sense October 16 in the early evening so it is all I can do, but I have been watching the last 14 days for a couple days and it went from a 7.5% down to a 7.1%, and right now it is a 7.0%. reguardless if this isn't totally accurate or anything like that, it shows me that I am doing better with what I am doing with my sugar. even though I unduldged a bit for dinner earlier, my sugar really didn't go up much, so the new medison I was put on, and started october 17 is really working really well.

well the old website is gone! it has been retired! thank god! thanks to claude helping me, as I don't know shit about html code, or anything like that. I have a very shiny brand new home page! you can see it at https://www.jjhof.com

ok ok ok! I get it claude! the site is old! just stop! lol! what I told claude.

you: we are going to totally start from scratch as that page reeks of old!

what claude just said to me.

claude: Starting from scratch it is. That page belongs in a museum!

ok, wow! nothing like being told by claude how old your home page is on your web site! this is exactly what claude just said, word for word.

Now for your home page. You weren't kidding about the mold! It was made in Microsoft FrontPage Express, and it's still talking about a radio station that started up in 2012, Android podcasts about Ice Cream Sandwich, a blog, and weather for Hardin County.

holy christ on a crotch rocket! my index page on my web site is so old and crusty that I bet there is mold all over it! have a look!

Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, and everyone whose blood sugar is doing the cha-cha right now: Accessible Diabetes Tracker 1.0 is officially here!

I know a lot of you have been eyeing this program from a safe distance, thinking "Beta? No thanks, I've got enough things in my life that might crash." Fair enough. Well, the wait is over. After 34 betas (yes, 34, I counted, and so did my poor beta testers), version 1.0 is out, it's stable, and it's ready for everyday use.

So what is it? A free Windows program for people with diabetes, built from the ground up to work with screen readers like NVDA and JAWS. I'm blind, I was diagnosed in 2026, and I couldn't find a diabetes tool that played nicely with my screen reader. So I made one. Turns out stubbornness is a renewable resource.

Here's what it does:
- Reads your glucose file from a FreeStyle Libre (through LibreView) or a Dexcom (through Dexcom Clarity), and tells you about it in plain words. No squinting at graphs, because, well, you know.
- Your latest reading, today's readings, week highs and lows, and it can even tell you the last time you hit 300. You may not want to know. It'll tell you anyway.
- A food log, so you can see what that "small" slice of cake really did to you an hour later.
- Compare two stretches of time, patterns by time of day, estimated A1C, and days left on your sensor.
- A doctor report you can save, read with your screen reader, and print to take to your appointment.
- Food lookup, to check the carbs in what you're about to eat. Or what you already ate. No judgment.
- Finger-stick readings, for when your sensor decides to take a day off.
- mg/dL or mmol/L, your choice.
- A menu bar, Ctrl quick keys, and a keyboard shortcut for everything.

And the important part: your health information stays on your computer. It isn't sent anywhere. Not to me, not to some company, not to the cloud, not to your nosy neighbor.

New in 1.0: you choose your updates. Stick with stable releases, or, if you like living on the edge, choose betas too and help me test new stuff before everyone else gets it.

If you were already using a beta, it'll offer you 1.0 the next time it checks for updates. Your readings and food log come along for the ride.

Coming in a later release: LibreView files in mmol/L, for my friends outside the United States. If that's you, the questions page explains how you can help without sending your readings.

Download it, free, at https://www.jjhof.com/adt
Questions and answers: https://www.jjhof.com/adt/faq.php

A huge thank-you to my beta testers, who found bugs I didn't even know were possible. You're the best.

It won't make your sugar behave. Believe me, I asked. But it'll tell you exactly what it's up to.

#Diabetes #Accessibility #Blind #ScreenReader #NVDA #JAWS #FreeStyleLibre #Dexcom #A11y

Hi everyone,

I'm making a free program called Accessible Diabetes Tracker. It reads FreeStyle Libre and Dexcom sugar readings and explains them in plain words for screen reader users. You can read about it here: https://www.jjhof.com/adt

I'm almost ready for version 1.0. The last thing I need is help from someone outside the United States who uses a FreeStyle Libre, where readings are in mmol/L (for example Canada, the UK, Australia or Europe). And no, I don't want your readings.

At first, the only way to add a new kind of file was for someone to send me their real readings file. I wasn't happy about that, so I had a stern talking-to with Evie, the AI that helps me build the program. Yes, I'll have a stern talking-to with a computer too. The result is the layout report: the program makes it on your own computer, it changes every number to 9 and takes out your name, and you read it yourself before you decide to send it. Your real file never leaves your computer, and nobody ever sees your readings.

Here's how to help:
1. Download the newest beta from https://www.jjhof.com/adt and unzip it.
2. Sign in to the LibreView website (not the phone app) and use the "Download glucose data" button. It saves a .csv file.
3. Open Accessible Diabetes Tracker and press Alt+I for Import data.
4. Choose the LibreView file type, then press Browse and pick your file.
5. Press Read file. The program will say it can't read this kind of file yet, and ask whether you'd like to save a layout report. Choose Yes.
6. The program tells you exactly where it saved "layout report.txt". Press OK, and the report opens in Notepad. Read it, and remove anything you'd rather not send.
7. Email "layout report.txt" as an attachment to jamminjerry2011@gmail.com.

That's it. Thank you so much for helping!

the only thing I need now is a libre csv file from outside the US so that we can make it work for those of you outside the us that uses Libre sensors. once I get that file, version 1.0 stable will be released.

if you or anyone you know uses dexcom sensors, you can now use beta 29, the newest beta of my Accessible Diabetes Tracker program with your sensor data. you can download it, and learn about all the new stuff that has been added here.
