Someone on Instagram: I think telling an autistic person they aren’t allowed to explain themselves isn’t a “boundary”, it’s shitty behavior.
The (low support needs, high masking) autistic in the comments: I’m autistic and someone was mean to me once so I should be allowed to tell my friends to never make mistakes in my presence lest I kill them with my blade.

Me and puffball have been together for so long because we explain our mistakes in great detail. We’ll spend hours picking our brains to figure out exactly what we mean. And it’s great. And it’s why we get along so well. It’s actually incredibly difficult to explain yourself, your brain and your intentions, and yes, you have to have long and confusing conversations sometimes to be in relationship with others that you love. It’s very hard to actually know someone else’s thought process. People are complicated, believe it or not.
