The #EU has an instrument that protects persons from third countries hammering them with sanctions – but only when they're targeted for their activities in »international trade and/or the movement of capital and related commercial activities«.

When it's about business, you get this:

»No judgment of a court or tribunal and no decision of an administrative authority located outside the Community giving effect, directly or indirectly, to the laws specified in the Annex or to actions based thereon or resulting there from, shall be recognized or be enforceable in any manner.«

The #EU has no similar instrument (yet) to protect members of a court, or other persons, upholding international law – like the #ICC.
