It's a wonder that anyone ever gets married if all men are after is to have someone who "does things" instead of having someone "who cares". I did not marry my wife so that she could be housekeeper/nanny/cook/etc... I married my wife because we had interesting (and sometimes heated) discussions and I found her intellectually stimulating.
@infosec812 no one starts out that cynical, we tell ourselves all kinds of stories, and yet the reality of heterosexual marriage is very often vast inequality that works out to exactly that (and worse).
Queer marriages tend to be much more egalitarian.
And women are increasingly opting out of marriage altogether, not just thru divorce, but never marrying at all.
