Oct 7, 2026, 2:24 PMThank you @distrowatch ❤️ to keep a trace of what I did in the past, when Wikipedia mostly erased this memory 😡
Because actually I have created *two* Linux distributions: Mandrake Linux, and Ulteo Application System, and it was super innovative.

And possibly a new Linux distro? eventually 😇
@gael a new distro ? L/e/nux ? 😁

@gael @distrowatch Mandrake Linux was my favourite distro over twenty years ag. By far the best looking one at the time, and easy to use.
@gael @distrowatch I hope you will reconsider your position on AI, I’m getting ready to become a part of the Murena community and it’s important to me that my kid and I are going to place that listens to its community.
Oct 8, 2026, 4:25 PM@Wilson6923 @distrowatch I am not sure what you mean about "reconsidering my position on AI"...
@gael @distrowatch you have come out in support of local models and haven't closed the door on it being used in murena. If I have misiturpreted either of these positions i am very sorry.
Oct 8, 2026, 4:55 PM@Wilson6923 @distrowatch "you have come out in support of local models and haven't closed the door on it being used in murena." i am not sure to understand what your are referring to here
@gael @distrowatch ok. Well I don't know how to say it any better, so I guess I'll just have to keep my fingers crossed. Sorry I wasted your time.
Oct 8, 2026, 5:03 PM@Wilson6923 @distrowatch If you were wasting my time, I wouldn't answer - no worry. Anyway, I'm not sure I have "position" on AI - despite the fact that it's a great and empowering tool and that of course, we'll try to ship AI features with a strong promise on privacy, and ideally by providing local inference on device (still a bit too early though)
@gael @distrowatch thank you, will you leave it up to the community to accept these features or not? Because part of my reason for leaving big tech is the introduction of AI features into everything without asking, or allowing us a choice.
Oct 8, 2026, 5:20 PM@Wilson6923 @distrowatch giving choice is always better, of course
@gael @distrowatch cool. Thank you again for giving me your time. I appreciate it. Excited to take this journey together my kids and my phones get here tomorrow. It’s a race to see if they can beat the hurricane that’s scheduled to make landfall tomorrow night. Fingers crossed.
