ElixirOffice: a first attempt to recreate a 100% open source office suite, for people used to MS Office UI.
Started from a personal need (read the reason on the GitHub page), forked from EuroOffice/OnlyOffice.
For: Linux, Windows, MacOS + server version.
AI-assisted project.
Happy to read first tests feedback.
PS I know someone released an open-source MS Office clone a few days ago, didn't have time to test it yet
Our new device has so many advantages they won't all fit in one headline.

Thank you @distrowatch ❤️ to keep a trace of what I did in the past, when Wikipedia mostly erased this memory 😡
Because actually I have created *two* Linux distributions: Mandrake Linux, and Ulteo Application System, and it was super innovative.
https://distrowatch.com/table.php?distribution=ulteo
And possibly a new Linux distro? eventually 😇

Just for fun: what it costs to build /e/OS (AOSP16) on a 2010 IBM x3650 M3
Spoiler : quite a few hours 😎
🇪🇺 I've started a series on what a more integrated Europe could change for its people, and how it could become more appealing. Each proposal comes with its cost and its funding.
Published so far:
💶 A capital endowment for every young European, paid for by inheritance
🔓 Independence: why open source, energy and payments decide who Europe answers to
Next: 🚄 infrastructure, 🎓 a funded year abroad at 18, ⚡ cheap clean energy.

I've been using the Murena GS6 Pro as my main device for a month now. My honest review is on my blog.
Removable battery, wireless charging, IP68, under-display fingerprint sensor, OLED 120Hz. Designed and assembled in Europe by Gigaset. EU energy label: energy class A, repairability class A, 55h battery endurance.
< 400€, with /e/OS on board. No Google inside.

Do we need Google? no
Do we need Microsoft? no
Do we need Facebook? no
We had an Internet and Web life before them and it was great.
The whole situation with big techs today is totally artificial. It is a market incident. An historical singularity that won't last.
#GPT3 answers need to be challenged carefully ^^
2- How do we *force* Apple and Google to add PWA support on G-Android and iOS? (they don't have any interest to do this)

/e/OS has added support for Progressive Web Apps since 2019 💪
We are also evaluating the opportunity to add support for #miniapps and #quickapps 🤖
This move to web technologies for mobile apps is needed if we want to break free from the ignominious Google/Apple duopoly on the mobile apps market.
However, to a certain extent this becomes less a technical issue than a marketing issue:
1- how do we convince apps publishers to move to web technologies?
We have a bunch of tech and non-tech opened positions at /e/! Software engineers, hackers, designers...
