Btw I have heard at least one prominent FOSS person (I'm choosing to not fill their notifications here by identifying them) that nobody cares about attribution requirements (and particularly not enforcing them). But to me, attribution is what I care about MORE than any other licensing requirements, more than copyleft "share-alike" style provisions, etc.

If you feel similarly, it would be good to hear on this thread. Perhaps even copying a similar notice into your project is a good idea.

For anyone who has not guessed, this is pretty much exactly what happens when someone has generated their terms, privacy notice, communications, and probably their business plan, using genAI.

The email asking for a quote looks almost identical from request to request, with the subject line syntax being a giveaway.

I've had multiple of these this week.

A question, please:

You are about to launch a small (for now, anyway) consumer-facing business.

You want to have a qualified lawyer:

* review your terms of service (~10 pages), and fix any problems.

* review your privacy notice, and fix any problems. You do not have a record of processing activities, and you need the review to check that the lawful bases are consistent with the GDPR, as well as everything else.

* review planned communications with users

* provide written answers to ~25 questions related to the law as it applies to your business and its plans, including GDPR compliance and international transfers.

Question: what charge would you consider to be reasonable for this?

I don't really *need* a website, but one actual convincing use case that I've identified is to post recipes and shopping lists for meals that we frequently eat.

This takes care of questions like "we're making burgers tonight, what do we need to buy?" or "how much rice did we make last time for the onigiri?".

Super basic, and very practical.
