Dammit! I just decided to get the Bitwig Audio interface and the Roto-Control, and then Ollo sends an early bird offer on their new headphone series.
My end of year buy can only be two of the three (and only if I sell my Apollo 8P).
My current Ollo headphones needs a new wire and earpads, so they will be an expence eventually. Might aswell get the new model.

New on the blog: the ambient loop station I'm building finally has a face. I coded the front panel in OpenSCAD and 3D printed it. It's not wired yet, but it feels great to finally hold it in my hands.
En af de ting jeg synes ofte er fraværende i budgetmodeller er gruppering af konti efter formål eller værdier.
Den model vi afrapporterer til Statens Kunstfond er helt fjollet, fordi ting er delt op i grupper som giver et meget forsimplet billede af vores aktiviteter. Den slags modeller fungerer mest som at man kan se det løber rundt. Det er meget sjældent "tal for indholdets skyld", hvilket gør at økonomistyring stort set aldrig handler om hvordan vi lykkes med vores formål.
Jeg kører f.eks. altid med det jeg kalder et skyggebudget, andre kalder det nok for "estimeret resultat" eller "forventet budget".
Det giver 0 mening kun at kigge på hvor man, for et år siden, troede man ville være i dag. Man er også nødt til at kigge på, hvor man forventer at lande - og gerne, hvis man har overskud til det - hvor man landede de foregående 3 år, så man kan opdage nye (utilsigtede) mønstre.
Når jeg siger "automatiserer", så mener jeg ikke AI. Det er slet ikke ønskværdigt til sådan noget her. Jeg vil bare have et regneark med et væld af kolonner, der gør det nemt for at sammenligne tal på tværs af regnskabsår og konti.
Og som samtidig ved simpel "celle 1 + celle 2" matematik, gør vores økonomi til håndtérbare grupper vi så kan tale om.
Jeg har altid syntes regnskabsprogrammernes budgetfunktioner er komplet uduelige til budgetopfølgning eller økonomistyring.
Har i dag bestået disciplinen "fremlæggelse af budgetopfølgning for bestyrelsen" tilsyneladende med bravour.
Da jeg startede ved Ensemblet startede jeg med at lave et helt nyt budgetregneark til os, der dels kunne bruges til budgetlægning (selvfølgelig), men som også gjorde budgetopfølgning nemmere. Helt enkelt så har vi et "master-ark" der følger vores kontoplan 1-1, og så har jeg lavet en række underark, der automatiserer at omsætte kontoplanen til overskuelige tabeller.

What are the electronic instruments you've played over the years that are DEAD SIMPLE to use? Meaning, a person with no experience could walk up to it and quickly and intuitively move some knobs around, poke around a bit, and start exploring the instrument?

Due to Umbriel's native #xwayland integration, X11 DAWs and #plugin (s) tend to work pretty much like on GNOME (aka mostly flawless). 😎
#niri with xwayland-satellite on the other hand, unfortunately, caused mouse pointer scaling and offset issues for me.

#MastodonAdmin I am getting hundreds of new (fake or robot) signups daily. I am denying all of them - maybe some of them are legitimate, but it would take hours to go through them - they are writing reasons for signing up. Most of them completely irrelevant for my instance, but some of them have made an effort to provide a relevant reason.
Anyways, I think I'll need to just close for new accounts. Or is there some way I can filter the robots from the humans?

So long Universal Audio interfaces and hello 20 year old ProjectMix running HUI controlsurface script as a Bitwig Extension.
The Akai Force works as an audio interface in ComputerMode.
The ProjectMix can be used with all routing and internal mixer controls through the FFADO mixer, but it’s easier with the Force when I don’t need several inputs or outboard gear.

Timeline integration for chapters in #hyper8 is now good enough to be merged yay!
Next up is the integration in the graphical editor. If time remains at the end I'll tweak the timeline design/usability a bit more, and maybe I can also implement chapter thumbnails if things go very well. :)
