Oh, man. Some very "with it" woman appeared on the bridge and used her magic bracelet to do sound effects that bounced everyone around a bit. Got to see some hilarious dramatic fallings. Usually this comes with camera shakes but not today since it's not the ship shaking.

Majel Barrett had the best one.

Spock has a very christmas gold coded fabric thing over his head.

    "His brain is gone."

Jimmy Doohan has a fabulous new head tribble and precious few lines. I'm not sure why he's here.

The actors are doing an admirable job with some of the goofiest logic and lines I can imagine.

"But what if you're wrong, captain?"

"If I'm wrong, Spock will die."

Reminds me of "second screen" TV, explaining and re-explaining itself all the way through.

The local version of neanderthals attack them by throwing clubs at them. Apparently, the prime directive doesn't apply to phasering large crowds of them. The dude who stayed behind on account of the phasering has groovy ankle warmers.

    Jimmy Doohan's hair remains remarkable.

ExtraCuddlesBoy (the cat) objects to me typing while he's on my lap so I guess we'll see.

Jim now has a policy of shooting women dressed like 60s party girls. The girl he shot is named Luma. In her win way, she knows as much as the Neanderthal do. They contract Spock’s brain but not much time passed before they were captured.

Everyone gets goofy bells including the people who live under the planet.

I don't remember how this episode ends but I do know Spock gets his brain back somehow. Leonard Nimoy's mostly voice acting but, in the moments he is on screen, he has the unenviable job of having no reaction whatsoever while occasionally being obliged to walk around in a mechanical fashion.

The same woman who caught them before makes everyone double over with pain.

Somehow the brainless Spock is persuaded to go after the woman, grab her wrists, and remove the bracelets.

They've got some kind of matrix library they can download into someone's head so they do that with the woman.

She uses her new (and temporary) skills to point Jim's phaser at him. It's set to kill.

Scotty feigns illness just long enough to distract the woman long enough for Kirk to get his phaser back.

We're now in the negotiation phase. She's not going for it. Bones wants to use the library thing on his head so he can save Spock. Spock objects to it since it could injure McCoy and may not solve the problem.

The only one he has to convince is Jim, though. Jim agrees.

After getting his update, Bones says a child could do it.

Jim tries to persuade the woman that they'll be ok without the "controller."

The library starts to wear off Bones and he needs a little pep talk plus a healthy dose of flashing blue lights.
