Half way back is the best time to remember one of the things you were supposed to get from the pet store right.
Oh well it's not urgent.

I frequently find myself in the 1%.... Of the population that doesn't have working cell service (the carriers often claim ~99% population coverage)
Either I have a fault or BYDs divert the air con to cooling the battery after rapid charging.
If anyone is charging more than about 30-40Kwh on a gridserve rapid charger in a month buy the £8 membership and then cancel the autorenew and pay via the app (so you get the membership pricing)
The membership gives you ~200kWh at 25% off the break even is somewhere around the 30-40Kwh mark which is probably only 1-2 charging sessions!
Yesterday
Charging via instavolt app would have been 92p per kWh
Charging via octopus electroverse app was around 64p kWh due to plunge pricing.
Same instavolt rapid charger in both cases absolute madness.
Grr my co-lo'd router decided to go die this morning.
I'm at the stage of ate too much, might go sleep now
But if I do then I'll not sleep tonight arrgh
So the Marston's WiFi blocks vanilla wireguard but seemingly not NordVPN
Why!?
Replacing that iffy 5400rpm drive with a 10k sas drive is definitely more audible. I can hear it seeking.
Only reason I did it was I happened to have a 2.5" 1.8TB sas drive laying around and the home server has a sas capable backplane.
It's also rather power inefficient abusing moosefs to make each drive a chunkserver as it causes a lot of background CPU usage
The local substations seem to have generators patched in, guessing the area feed went bang in a non trivial way.
Doubt the DNO would be plopping down local generation for the sheer fun of it.
Hah annoyinly i didn't spec the "gateway" option for the solar because "the grid is stable here"... maybe i should rethink that or at least a v2l adaptor to be able to use the car to power things in the house.
I wonder if i have the entire PON to myself at the moment, there's a power cut over quite a wide area.
Certainly other than a couple IOT devices I don't see other peoples wi-fi networks (I fed my router/ont off a bluetti).
Also managed to do dinner with the ecoflow and the air fryer but only just managed to with that stupid xboost on.
The ecoflow is now powering the fridge.
Basically i had a 300wh and a 500wh bluetti (which the router is off) then about 2kWh of ecoflow + battery.
Ah yes we get to play the game of is it the disk, the backplane or the controller.
Either way I have an iffy drive in my homeserver it seems.
Wait those job links linked in sends just auto sign you in?
So if you go oh I'm not looking but my friend might be and forward them you might accidentally give them a way to login to your account?
We detected a suspicious login no shit
https://youtu.be/kAP9GuBtPZk 😂 it’s gotta be deliberate at this point surely…. Surely you can’t go through design product testing etc and leave such an egregious flaw there without noticing?
Oof 21.36kWh at peak rate, yep running portable AC units is expensive.
Shame haven't got solar in yet
The thing was working fine before I took it's ram but it was also idling at 200w that said I didn't bother seeing if I could get that lower as im not planning to run it, already got an r730 humming away at home.
Probably put it in storage for now
I have a Cisco ucs 240 M4 (I think) that I bought to steal the ddr4 from.
It has a rather Interesting pcie card in which sadly I don't think I can do anything useful with cn6880c-410mv-m16-3.0G - seems to be a 4 port 10G card with 16GB ddr3 but I don't think there's anything I could load to the card to make use of it and it's awfully power hungry to try and use a bog standard 10G nic.
Did also think about taking the CPUs but they're 2680v3 and the dell has 2620v4s in my gut says not worthwhile
The cockapoo is where biscuits go to die
I managed to play games in Linux on the 12900H/ Arc B570 rig without it imploding yesterday.
Cautiously hopeful that whatever Linux didn't like about that machine is now fixed and I don't have to suffer windows 11 on my TV machine anymore.
Booted it up a few days back and it asked me to enable onedrive backups AGAIN so rather keen to get rid.
