PHP is dead.

According to https://wordpress.org/about/stats/, about 20.23% of #WordPress installs are still running PHP 7.4 or earlier.

If you're in that group, you need to upgrade to a currently supported PHP version (8.2 or newer). PHP 8.5 is the latest stable release: https://www.php.net/supported-versions.php

Emergency patches for two critical RCE vulnerabilities are dropping later today.

8 hours of playtime later, I'm finally headed to Westfall. It feels like there's a lot more content sending you all over the zones! #worldofwarcraft

World of Warcraft: Forever.
Looks familiar... 😆

Recent updates: up-to-date builds with refined image tagging, and the new Playerbot system that adds computer-controlled bots to populate the world for Battlegrounds, Arenas, and Dungeons. You can also connect them to an OpenAI-compatible API (like Ollama) for dynamic chat.

If you're interested in #WoW server emulation, I've been maintaining a #CMaNGOS Docker Compose project: https://github.com/jrtashjian/cmangos-docker

The quick start guide includes ready-to-use docker compose files for Vanilla (1.12.1), The Burning Crusade (2.4.3), and Wrath of the Lich King (3.3.5). You'll need client data extracted from your local WoW install via the included extractors image.

I'm really happy with how it's shaping up. The goal is to keep it simple, solid, and built right into the Block Editor experience.

If you're using the Block Editor and need forms, give OmniForm a spin and let me know what you think. What features would you love to see next?

Right now I'm building v2. It adds a nice overview dashboard so you can see how your forms are performing, along with cleaner views for managing forms and responses.

I've also been tightening things up under the hood for better security and reliability.

That includes raising the minimum requirements to WordPress 7.0 and PHP 8.2+.

Also, several new fields are coming: Color Picker, Range/Slider, File Upload, and a Username/Email field that works great for custom login pages.

It's been a while since I've talked about OmniForm. I've been quietly working away on the core plugin and thinking ahead to a future premium service.

The plugin is completely free.

Sharing my approach to infrastructure as code (IaC) in my #homelab using #Terraform and #Ansible: https://jrtashjian.com/2026/04/terraform-and-ansible-in-my-homelab/

How do you handle infrastructure as code in your own homelab?

Working closely with others is what fueled my passion. With it gone, everything is draining.

Maybe it’s just my personal experience and situation. I do wonder if others feel the same way.

I think the most annoying part about all this AI stuff for me is the removal of human interaction. There’s basically zero code pairing now, no collaboration of ideas with other humans, no interesting new ideas, no vision.

The only pursuit is how do we AI more.

It’s monotonous.

I've been working on using the DataViews package for #OmniForm. Here's a sneak peak at the dashboard (in-progress) in #WordPress.

Today I learned how to snowboard at Okemo Mountain! I fell hard a handful of times and got a cramp in my leg, but overall had a lot of fun.
