    kitten, after dragging the doormat halfway across the floor for no apparent reason, has now settled down to rest on a small piece of orange tissue paper that arrived through the post (with something else). his happiness is complete.

    (he LOVES paper)

    a floofy black and white cat is asleep on a small piece of orange tissue paper. both are lying on a brown woven-cotton sofa cover.

    @moonrabbit Well, surely he couldn’t rest on the paper with the door mat *there*?

    @Janet_52square that is a good point. although the paper had not yet arrived when the doormat happened, but maybe it wouldn't have, had he not Arranged Things?

    @moonrabbit

    I received 5kg of rice in this yesterday. This was taken seconds after I had taken the bag of rice out of the box...!

    A self-satisfied and smug calico cat licks her lips as she settles down in a cardboard box that has just arrived in my kitchen.

    @tompearce49 i think what you mean is that you got a new box for her that happened to have rice in it? :BlobCat_Giggle:

    @moonrabbit I have this half funny, half dark theory that when babies are born and before language & cognition forms they can briefly remember their last life and the crying is mostly a "not this again?" response.

    @emsquared i suspect that would be getting more and more prevalent now, given everything 😭

    (i mean there are some amazing things here. but also. not.)

    @moonrabbit Sadly true. Cat or duck next time around please as they clearly are waiting to take over once we've messed it all up.

    @moonrabbit But yeah. If it has to happen then kept in the style to which I would wish to become accostomed. Like cats do.

    @emsquared i've often thought ours live lives i'd wish for, at least in large part. they don't get to go to the seaside though.

    @moonrabbit Paper is So Good (tissue paper especially).

    Things that arrive through the post are also So Good (especially when they come with stickers and from lovely people--ask me how I know. 🙇 :dustSprite: 🥰).
